I don’t know if many of you are interested in fanfiction, but it’s something I enjoy reading for all different series to help with the waiting time. They’re an interesting read sometimes because it explores a story based on a writer’s theories; so instead of discussing a theory you can read how it might turn out. These two stories are amazing. They’re most likely not what’s going to happen, but they give you ideas to come up with your own theories. The first one is Eldunari and it’s continuation is Edoc’sil. Here ar the links:

I hope you read them and enjoy it as much as I do.

I love the awkward silence between the end of the general podcast and the beginning of the spoiler section. I giggle every time.

  • I would love a steampunk dragon. Ive seen pics on teh internets and it looks insane

  • angela+galby

i think angela might be one of the grey folk. she said she is older than she looks and is very powerfull. it would just make sense. think about it.

  • angela+galby

milke, lauren, you said that eragon was getting much closer to arya’s status because he was an elf man. did you forget the 83 year age diffrence?

I want a PINK dragon! Not hot pink, pastel pink. I think that would be so beautiful.

        “Eragon’s “back-attacks” are getting worse”

This doesn’t fit with a list sentence structure.

Seriously, it takes all of a couple moments to read over what one’s written. Considering this is the official fansite for Eragon, I’d expect a bit more professionalism.

        • Kewers77

Considering this is an Inheritance fansite, I would expect more appreciation for Mike, Chris, Lauren, and everyone else who is working hard so that you can enjoy it

          • Guest

Extremely valid point, Kewers77, and I do agree with you–however, these errors are still quite obvious, and it does nothing to help the credibility of those who like the books.

  • Kewers77

What do you guys think of my theory that Saphira may not even like the green dragon. He”ll be a young dragon that knows right away that he has a mate, no work required. And if he bonds with Arya, it would only build upon that. Knowing that your bonded to a wise and powerful elf. I think a wild dragon would be a more fitting choice for Saphira, considering she’s almost wild herself. Glaedr even said something along the lines that may have they coddled past dragons. He also said that it was an accomplishment for a riders dragon to mate with a wild dragon. Do you think that Greeny could do it with no effort?

    • Fairth

It’s possible, but I’ve got a few things against your arguement.
      1.  If Arya is the rider of the green dragon, then Saphira will be effected by the feelings Eragon has for Arya and, in turn, for the green dragon.
      2.  Saphira was ready to mate with a dragon way way older than herself, two or three years isn’t a big leap for human relationships, so just think what things must be like for dragons.
      3.  More of a partial refutation:  Glaedr did say that they may have coddled past dragons, but that was in relation to not forcing them to deal with more difficult situations from the time they hatched.  Also, riders that bond with a dragon have the effect of making the dragon they bond with more calm than wild dragons.  This has a greater effect than the situations that they were exposed to in their formative days.

  • KennyT

I can’t choose between a royal purple, forest green or midnight black dragon.  Anyone of them would be just awesome

  • Probabully

One thing I’ve always wondered about on the appearances issue is Galbatorix’ appearance. Did he start looking more like an elf while he still had Jarnuvosk, and then go back to normal after she died, or did he keep looking more like an elf after he got Shruikan?

If his body went back to normal, would that mean Eragon would be more powerful than him physically?

    • Kewers77

Hmm well I think he probably stopped changing once Jarnuvosk died, and did not continue with Shruikan. and he probably uses magic to make him more powerfull physically. Didn’t roran ask eragon to do something like that for him? Galby certainly has enough energy to do it

  • I think a translucent dragon would be very, very cool and very, very creepy. Would love to see one though. but if I could have any color dragon, it would probably be Emerald Green or Opal White.

i think that the bond between Galbatorix and Shruikan, since it is not natural bond between a dragon and a rider. it will probably be severed by Eragon since it would only be a spell so he will no longer be rider and thus easier to kill.

Once you guys got onto the topic of dragon colors I immediately thought of how amazing a White dragon would look. With a slight iridescent/pearl look on the scales. That would totally be my choice.

    • tdog

An Albino dragon…hmmmm. I agree, That, would be awesome

      • Anchal Jain

    What’s an earldom?

    • Anonymous

I believe it’s to be given the title of “Earl.” Perhaps I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that’s what it is.

    • I always thought that an earldom was a territory within a kingdom that is owned by an earl, similar to a count/countess or a baron

    • Land+title+nobility = power and fortune!

    • Scooterluvr

      Dictionary.com

      earl·dom   [url-duhm]
noun 1.Also called earlship. the rank or title of an earl. 2.the territory or jurisdiction of an earl.earl [url]

      — n
      1. Female equivalent: countess  (in the British Isles) a nobleman ranking below a marquess and above a viscount
      2. (in Anglo-Saxon England) a royal governor of any of the large divisions of the kingdom

      • EternalShade

Hm. I feel stupid now. I thought an earldom was a type of currency….

  • Howie

What if Gleadr had a mate before Galbatorix killed all the dragons?

    • Never thought of Glaedr, but I was always curious if Oromis had ever been attracted to someone. Oromis, Glaedr, Galbatorix.

  • Sesshy

I love Oromis, but I would like to hear why you like him?

  • Irock13198

mike one question, why are the big twenty and book club ussauly realesed so late at night( im on the eastern coast so same time as you)

    • Cause we work late!

      • Coasterking

so when do u guys record the podcasts cause the last one mike mentioned hearing kids playing in the backround. Also what do you guys do im courious to know if its book related.

        • They usually record in the afternoon.

The episodes release later at night because I have to edit them in the evenings after I get home from work.

  • Logic Lawyer

Bid’daum and the unnamed white dragon are NOT the same being. Bid’daum was the white dragon that hatched for Eragon I, and his name is known. The white dragon who’s name cannot be expressed was the leader of the nation of wild dragons at the time, and an entirely different dragon. CP clarified this in an interview.

    • I noticed that this is similar to the werecats – they are both proud races and very independent, but them having a leader shows that they can band together and unite 😀

  • Dave I Wais

Regarding Arya’s leather, I’d like to point out that it isn’t necessarily gathered through the traditional matter. It could have been taken from the hides of an animal that had died through natural causes (rather like Islanzadi’s cape of swan feathers), or it could have been gotten from trading with the dwarves. Furthermore, Arya is hardly a conventional elf and, given her distance from the rest of her race, it wouldn’t be out of the question to assume that she didn’t care about these things to the same extent as other elves.

  • hoke

when is episode 11 of the podcast coming, and what about the big twenty?…..

Now that I got your attention Mike and/or Rob…
What do you think of my theory that Galbatorix’s home Inzelbeth, the province that is no more, is the burning plains? I think that he grew up there and that it was destroyed during the battle between the riders and the forsworn. Being the site of a huge battle could be why it is “no more”. Since the burning plains are so close to Surda I also think that old Galby has relatives there, and that is why he is reluctant to crush Surda which he easily could. He may even be related to their royalty, like King Orrin. This theory could have nothing to do whatsoever with Book 4, but I thought it would be interesting if CP explored Galby’s origins, and I think it would be fitting that his home would be destroyed, therefore shredding his last tie to humanity. I just wanted to hear what the Ebrithil thought..

If i got to chose my dragon’s colour and it could be unrestricted, i’d want one that was glossy black but with a red iridescence, like the colours that come through in oil except in varying shades of red that only come through when the light hits it.

  • ItsEminem

I think it was just CP trying to get a super-hot heroine, in skin tight leather. I think he admitted they he overlooked it.

  • ItsEminem

What we really need to do is get rid of Roran. Job for M&T. Yes I think Arya is also quite stupid and immature in the ExA relationship. One it was just a potrait, calm down crazy woman. Also I don’t think the blood oath should go against Eragon’s maturity, because he was pretty much drunk on magic. Anyway how else does a relationship go, than one person admitting their feelings?

  • Fairth

I don’t think the main reason that Glader wasn’t willing to mate with Saphira is very similar to why Arya isn’t willing to be with Eragon at this time.  It would distract both of them.  There’s also the added consideration that now is not the time to put Saphira out of commission carrying eggs that could fall into enemy hands.
I think that the new human riders get a sped-up version of what happened to the elves after the oath with the dragons plus the little extra that all riders get.  What Eragon got was a super-speed version of that along with the healing that he got.Is there still a plan to do anything with the poster designs?  You haven’t said anything about them lately.

this may sound a bit crazy but what if galbatorix wants to get Saphira not to have her make eggs but be a new body for Jarnunvösk. if he has her Eldunari that is….. dont know if thats a good theory but *shrugs*

    • Anonymous

Didn’t it say somewhere in the book that Jarnunvosk was male? I’m getting a bit confused because in discussions it’s gender seems to change depending on whose speaking.

      • Boo

Jarnunvosk was actually female, though CP himself admitted to saying she was a male at some point.

        • Rubydragon

A hermaphrodite dragon? that would be too wierd. especially for Galby. Or maybe he wanted a boy dragon but ended up with a girl.

    • Daniela

Yep, exactly. You guys got these two dragons messed up. Eragon 1’s dragon wasn’t the one who was chosen to represent dragon race in the pact. Glaedr specifically says that the name of the “pact dragon” can’t be said in any language, but if Brom has no problem saying Bid’duam’s name, it equals two different dragons.

Maybe Arya’s wearing not wearing leather but like Elven pleather that Eragon confuses for leather. I mean if they have alarm clocks and lip balm, and whats pretty much the equivalent to photographs(fairth) and Skype(scrying),why cant they have fake leather?

Pizza with anchovies is the most delicious thing you can have!! (I’ve never had it – I’m vegetarian.)

    • You had me going for a second there…

I like “meet” (Mike’s spelling) though!

Does anyone really ‘need’ clothing? I think that if the elves saw that wearing clothes meant sacrificing animals, they might not feel such a need. I can definitly imagin the hippy elves feeling comfortable enough to walk around naked. Perhaps it is simply that they take the hide from animals once the animals have died. Cows are mortal and must die some time – once they are dead, surely any utilitarian elf would understand that it would be wasteful not to use the skins of the animal? Well, that’s my theory anyway.

Hey the podcast cuts off just as Lauren is asking what colour dragon you would choose!!! D:

  • caitriona pala

I would have a green or blue dragon. If it is green I would name her Esmeralda.

  • J-Man

On your point about humans changing to elves. It must be a gift because Brom in Carvahall does not have the physical appearance as an elf. Does the process reverse once your dragon dies or is it just not the case

  • Coasterking

Eragon 1’s dragon Bid’Daum is often mistakenly identified as the white dragon who made a pact with the elves due to the fact that his scales are the same color.

    (that’s from inheri wiki)
