Hey Mike… I couldn’t find a place to ask for something like this on Lytherus

    http://www.inheritanceforums.com/index.php?showtopic=31741

  • c’mon man

I have 2 suggestions but i dont know if people are gonna like them, anyway:
    1. we keep complaining and eventually cp might release a title/cover/book to keep us interested
    2. we learn from this experience and the next time cp releases a book, we wait untill the series is completely released so we do not get impatient
just my thoughts, please don’t hate

  • c’mon man

    Mike,
I don’t know if anyone has ever said this before but i don’t think you should be posting stuff that is not inheritence related so please stop this nonsense

im just kidding do whatever the heck you want

    • Mr. Anonymous

You would not believe how many people have said that!

      • c’mon man

i know i just wanted to see what hed say

        • Mr. Anonymous

I think I’d know what he’d say: He’d come off looking defensive but in actuality explain that he has all the power and commenting is a priveledge. Then he’d say “go complain somewhere else” or something along those lines. lol 🙂

          • You know me well.

          • Mr. Anonymous

I gots nothin else to comment on, other than this page, bc you cancelled commenting. It’s unfortunate that it had to come down to that REALLY!! People can’t control themeselves.

  • Cncplus3

man i am about to give up. i have checked this site everyday for almost 2 years and still no book 4 jeeze its not even worth waiting for anymore.

  • Aladora

I’m rereading the books and found out a few things. Here is the only one I wish to share.

When Eragon merges with Saphira in their second time flying together, he notes how much she uses her tail to correct her position and fly without coming crashing to the ground. This raises my new question(Not asking for an answer, just something to think about); What will happen when Thorn must fly next time, and is missing three feet of his tail?

    • Anonymous

That is a very good question. Probably not too well. You should submit this next time Mike asks for Q+A questions. As it is something totally unrelated to future book plot, it sounds like something CP would answer.

      • Aladora

I sure will! And I’m hoping he goes tumbling to the ground and Murtagh dies, but that’s just my demented opinion. Once that tard betrayed Eragon, (And killed my favorite characters; Oromis and Glaedr) my liking for him, which was low to begin with, plummeted!

        • Anonymous

LOL. I think it will be very interesting to see what CP does with Murtagh, especially since everything he does is because he is forced by the true name. Maybe Murtagh will kill himself to save people.

          • Aladora

Naw, he values his own hind end too much. It would be some epic irony if Nasuada killed him though, and these books have made me demented. I find myself giggling when someone evil get’s decapitated, and I often day dream about kicking Murtagh’s butt and saving Oromis and Glaedr, since they were my fave characters. It was like… Dobby in Harry Potter dieing. Sad!

          • Aladora

Some one evil IN THE BOOKS get’s decapitated*

I don’t go around decapitating mean people, I swear! 😛

MIKE MACAULEY, i have a question that needs to be answered. when galbatorix possesed murtagh to win against oromis, why didn’t he do the same thing to Murtagh when he was facing eragon for the 2nd time?

    • I didn’t write the books so I can’t answer that one. 😛

      • Aladora

It may have been due to the fact that (I think, rereading the books but I can’t quite remember if this is true or not though I’m 60% sure it is) Murtagh was farther from Galbatorix than when he killed Oromis.

Mike question. On average how many people visit this site daily? Just wondering cause i check it daily and was curious how many other people are like me.

    • Mr. Anonymous

Put down the first tally mark for me cuz I do!

    • Shur’tugal itself receives over 12,000 unique visitors a day (our actual hits count is much higher due to the fact that each individual users visits three or more pages on average) and our entire Inheritance-related network (Shurtugal, IF, fan fiction, etc) receives 20,000 unique visitors per day. Lytherus is not included in those numbers.

      • the Fort

        Whoa…Cool thanks for answering

  • Anonymous

Hey mike i just wanted to ask, why are you letting the major discussion about religion go on in the comments of the tad williams interview post (i believe that was his name) i just think its kind of inappropriate because everyone is insulting each other

    • Unfortunately I can’t be everywhere at once. It becomes very challenging for me to watch comment threads on older posts, especially when I have to do everything else on the site + my other jobs, so I usually forget to keep checking those. I rely on you guys to help self-police older threads and to report (through the feedback form) any bad stuff going on, such as religious discussions.

      • Mr. Anonymous

Thank goodness that was taken care of– thanks! It was really bringin’ me down.

Mike, you do a great job with the site! Ignore the haters. They have nothing better to do with their lives than complain when there’s no news (because OBVIOUSLY you’re supposed to be magically able to get news out of CP and RandomHouse). I can’t imagine the amount of time and energy this site consumes, especially along with everything you do outside this site (which said haters seem to forget often). I don’t even bother checking alagaesia.com anymore. Shur’tugal is way easier and I think Lytherus is really cool! Keep up the great work!

  • Cool news: yesterday was Lytherus’s most successful day ever, with thousands of extra visitors checking the website out for the first time. We’re thrilled you guys like the new site!

(Just goes to show that the few negative commenters couldn’t be more wrong. 😉 )

      Great to hear that!!
I go there everyday and love the site. Your book reviews have gotten me started on a couple of new series. I’m not much into Anime but after reading the reviews I might have to look into it.
      Hope it grows even more!!

      • Mchl_Andrew

I check the site everyday as well. Its another great site, and its a very interesting mix of content.

Mike, you’ve probably heard it a hundred times, but you do a wonderful job on Shur’tugal, and also with the Almanac. Your dedication to the Inheritance Cycle and your obvious love of books is inspiring.

    • Thanks! You guys rock and are the reason I keep doing this!

  • Spacechick055

Oh my goodness. I think the most exciting thing on there for me was the announcement of the Avatar:The Last Airbender spin-off series. After such a dissapointing movie, I need a good fix of the people I love so much! Thanks guys for the post 🙂

    • I was stoked by that announcement! I was a huge fan of the original Avatar TV series and loathed the movie. Glad to see such a potentially cool character getting a spin-off series. Also glad to see that M. Knight isn’t behind this one. 😉

      • Spacechick055

Haha, my thoughts exactly 🙂 I hope they let the movie die off so someone better can start it over later

  • Theburningwarrior

Lol mike deleted a post in which a fellow suggested he delete the site and move inheritance stuff to lytherus, it got 4 ‘likes’. Feeling a bit insecure there hey mikey? 😀

    • Insecure? No. I run this website as a “for free” service and I decide what content is posted on our front page. If you don’t the service we offer you for free, by all means, find another Inheritance fansite to visit. No one forces you to visit Shur’tugal and no one forces you to read the articles related to Lytherus. You could skip over them.

4 “likes” is nothing; there will always be someone unhappy with a decision. However, to offer you some perspective: Shur’tugal receives over 12,000 individual visitors per day and our Inheritance network receives over 20,000 unique visitors per day. Funny enough, the last summary article I did about Lytherus was the second most viewed article on Shur’tugal of *all time*. Traffic to Shur’tugal is at its highest ever; the only day more trafficked than our daily average right now was the day that Brisingr released. Clearly people like what I’m doing with Shur’tugal more than ever. The few of you who do not like what I’m doing are more than welcome to skip the articles that don’t appeal to you or to find a new website to visit. I appreciate the support from our visitors, but I certainly will not tolerate harassment, belittling, rudeness, or immaturity on a website that I bust my butt to work on.

      • Jahooty **

Just curious but what was the most viewed article of all time?

        • c’mon man

          hey, im the troll

      • Mr. Anonymous

        He’s talkin the sense.

      • He called him Mikey! I thought only I could do that!

  • L Alnusair

Hey can you tell cp to hurry up cause I m kinda getting bored of waiting and I’m thinking of quoting it because it Is kinda no t worth the wait his books are awesome but can he hurry up plz

  • Anonymous

Love the Lytherus website, I visit it everyday.

  • Luke23

Is Lytherus going to take over once the Cycle wraps up? Or are you going to keep it going for future books CP might write about Eragons world?

    • Lytherus is actually a separate website, so it won’t ever take over for Shur’tugal. Shur’tugal will stick around after Book 4 to cover all Christopher Paolini related news.

  • PessimisticAnon

Ever considered shuting down this nowadays, totally irrelevant website and just make an Inheritance section on Lytherus already. Doing this would probably cut down on bandwidth costs and then you wouldn’t have to make excuses for posting unrelated stuff on Shurtugal for the sake of a website update 🙂

  • LookWhosBackAgain

It doesn’t affect my life in any way, shape, form, capacity, dimension, etc. I just know how to get under your skin. And no matter how many times you ban me, I’ll always be able to come back whenever I want.

  • Mr. Anonymous

Yay! First fan on post!! It’s funny how you, Mike, actually have to post reminders for decorum on every post. Anyways good job with your HOBBY bc this is real awesome and you don’t even have to do it. We’d be SO in the dark about everything Inheritance if you didn’t create this official fansite. Thanks!

    • Yeah, unfortunately we’ve got a few losers here who take their internet anonymity too far when posting on websites. I take comfort in knowing that these people probably live sad and lonely lives offline, so it doesn’t really bug me. I just wanted to save myself time from having to ban them.

      • Mr. Anonymous

        Anonymity is my name brutha!

  • I understand and appreciate that Shur’tugal is an Inheritance Cycle fan site and realize that a small few of you believe that only Inheritance Cycle related news should be posted on Shur’tugal. Before you post here with this sentiment again, I wanted to remind everyone of a few facts:

    1. Shur’tugal is a free-to-visit website which has been a hobby project of mine for six years. Because I offer it for free, I am able to make the decisions as to which content appears on the website. As it is a free resource, yelling at someone because you disagree with one of the few things they post on the website is fairly out of line.

    2. I am not sacrificing Inheritance-related articles in favor of Lytherus articles. I post these Lytherus articles because there’s no other Inheritance content to post. I’d rather link you guys to some really cool fantasy/scifi articles rather than give you absolutely nothing to do while we wait for the next bit of news, which could be days or weeks away. If I didn’t post Lytherus articles in the down time, you guys would have zero to read on here.

    3. If you’re still irritated that this is here, please ask yourself: how does this negatively affect me or impact my life in any way, shape, or form? (Hint: it doesn’t)
Please enjoy this for what it is: a recommendation of awesome articles that we think you’d enjoy checking out while we all wait together for news on Book 4. And rest assured, the minute I have Inheritance news in my inbox, I’ll bump this Lytherus stuff from the home page!
