As many of you may have noticed, a lot of book stores may be telling you that they don’t have copies of the Deluxe Edition of Eragon… this, in some cases, is not true. If you’ve had this problem, read on:
When you call your book store to ask them if they have the book, you probably ask “Do you have copies of the Deluxe Edition of Eragon?” They’re going to tell you they don’t. Why? Because the Deluxe Edition of Eragon is really just Eragon… confusing, I know, but keep reading. When Random House published the book, they kept the same name, that being “Eragon” and the same bar code as the original Eragon. So when the book store searches their inventory computer, all they see is “Eragon”, not “Eragon – Deluxe Edition”.
Here’s what you need to do: When you call your book store, ask them if they have the copy of Eragon where the picture of the dragon on the front is lined in gold. If it’s a big store, they’re sure to have it. If they say they don’t see it out on the floor, ask them to check out back. I suggest you look at Barnes and Noble or Borders.
Today I ran into this same problem, along with a bunch of my friends. Just ask the people if they have the copy of Eragon on which the picture of the dragon is lined in gold… tell them to check out back if they don’t see it! Good luck!
