The International Herald Tribune recently published an article talking about teen actor Alex Pettyfer and his role as a 14-year-old secret agent in the upcoming film “Stormbreaker”. In the article, Alex talks about being offered the role of Eragon in the Eragon movie by Fox 2000, previous to the casting of Ed Speleers. Pettyfer says he turned down the role partly because Eragon was being filmed in Budapest and he’s afraid of flying. You can see a picture of Alex Pettyfer here.
Several news sources have also been reporting that British actor Ian McKellen, who played Magneto in “X-Men” and Gandalf in “Lord of the Rings” was offered the role of Brom in Eragon, but turned this down due to prior filming commitments with “X3”.
Relevant? Not really. But definitely interesting!
