Inheritance Forums is located at http://www.inheritanceforums.com/ and is the official forums of Shurtugal.com. As of 12/09/09, there are nearly 20,500 registered members, and aproximately 1.5 million posts.

Inheritance Forums was originally named eragonforums.com, but chose their new title after the release of Eldest. Members who joined before the change may still refer to the site as EF instead of the commonly used IF. The site has had a vast history and has an extremely active Cycle forum, for discussion of all things related to Inheritance. Despite it being a forum for the Inheritance cycle, IF is also a forum outlet for many other things. It has had a history of writers (Spinner, DwarvesRule, etc), graphic artists (Soragon, effe chile, etc), and artists (KAT_Hiwatari, Lady Goldylocks), in its fairly active Creative Arts section. IF also has a section dedicated to Away From Inheritance topics, including a forum for advanced debate named Mature Discussion, a section for discussing media and entertainment (such as other books, movies, and music), and a forum just for General Discussion. In addition, the RPG section is quite alive, containing more than ten active RPGs. Currently IF remains a source of intellectual conversation about many topics including and other than the Inheritance Cycle, especially due to its strict proper-grammar rules.

Every year at different times but usually around the end of the year, Inheritance Forums hosts the IF Ball. There is also a weekly Signature contest.
