[edit] Overview
The Hadarac is a vast desert that takes up about a quarter of the entire Alagaësia. It goes from the Ramr River on the west to the Az Ragni and Edda River to the East. The south of the Hadarac is bordered by the Beor Mountains, and to the north of it is the great Du Weldenvarden forest. It is home to a few tribal peoples and bands of raiders, but otherwise the Hadarac is a hostile environment to humans. The Hadarac desert is the ancestral homeland of the dragons.

In Eragon, Eragon, Saphira, and Murtagh have to cross the Hadarac desert as they are chased by the Urgal army. They face challenges such as lack of water and bandits. Eragon and Murtagh dislike the blistering temperatures, but Saphira loves the heat.
[edit] Eldest
In Eldest, Eragon, Saphira, Arya, and Orik journey across the eastern borders of the Hadarac on their way from the Beor Mountains to Du Weldenvarden. Later, Saphira flies Eragon and Orik over the Hadarac as they go to Surda.
[edit] Brisingr
In Brisingr Eragon and Saphira cross the Hadarac Desert on their way to Feinster to aid the Varden on the Siege of Feinster.
