Dusan

Dusan is one of the two elf children in Ellesméra. Dusan is 12 years old, and currently the only male elf child met in the Inheritance Cycle. The other elf child is a female named Alanna, which Dusan was first found with. Dusan is first spotted with Alanna in the chapter 'Mind over Metal' in Brisingr, along with the Werecat Maud, as they watch Eragon and Rhunön form brightsteel into a sword.

Eragon questions Rhunön on their identites , she explains, "They are Alanna and Dusan, the only elf children in Ellesméra. There was much rejoicing when they were concieved twelve years ago."

Eragon responds "They are like no elves I have met,"

Rhunön later comments back, "Our children are special, Shadeslayer. They are blessed with certain gifts-gifts of grace and power-which no grown elf can hope to match. As we age, our blossom withers somewhat , although the magic of our early years never completely abandons us."

Dusan, along with Alanna, are said to be the same height as Maud in human form, and are described as 'extraordinarily beautiful, even by the standards of the elves':

"Their solemn teardrop faces seemed wise and innocent in equal measure, which made it impossible for Eragon to determine their age. Their skin displayed a faint, silvery sheen, as if the two elves were so filled with energy, it was seeping out their very flesh" --Brisingr p.673
