Happy 26th Birthday, Christopher!
Written by Mike Macauley at 11:23 am 53 Comments
Our favorite author and the man behind the fantasy series that has brought us all here turns twenty-six today! It's hard to believe that Christopher Paolini sat down as a teenager over ten years ago and began what would become one of the most beloved fantasy novels of our generation. Since then, Christopher has inspired thousands of young adults to pick up a pen and paper to weave a fantasy tale of their own. His hard word, dedication, and imagination has shown even society's most stubborn that a person's age no longer dictates one's accomplishments.

We all wish you a very happy birthday, Christopher! Just make sure to save us a bit of cake.

Our fourth Q&A with Christopher Paolini is finally here (and as they say, better late than never). Fans finally got around to asking about Vanir, the Inheritance "cult" favorite, and his possible role in Book 4, as well as the gedwëy ignasia, Durza's sword, griffins, werecats, and more! Our monthly Q&A will be back on track soon, so keep your eyes peeled and your brain thinking about the questions you'd like to submit for the upcoming fifth Q&A with Christopher! In the mean time, enjoy the full fourth Q&A on its transcript page! If you haven't read the first three interviews, head on over to our Q&A with Christopher Paolini archive!

We recently posted that the intended release date for the Deluxe Edition of Brisingr was October 23rd. This information was incorrect. The release date for the Deluxe Edition is this coming Tuesday, October 13th!

We've also received an update on the Deluxe Edition's content. It will no longer include the artwork of Glaedr's eye - instead it will feature a new piece of artwork done by Christopher Paolini himself - Galbatorix! This will be our first author-approved (or in this case, author illustrated) visualization of Galbatorix! For more information on the Deluxe Edition, click here.

Don't forget to pre-order your copy of the Brisingr Deluxe Edition for only $19.79 (saving you over $10!) through Amazon.com!

Reminder: Two New Books Releasing This Month!
Written by Mike Macauley at 7:37 am 76 Comments
It's hard to believe that Brisingr, the third installment in the Inheritance cycle, has now been in publication for over a year! Those who visit the site often will have noticed our two new book countdowns ticking away since they were added several months ago. With their publications drawing near, we thought it'd be a good time to remind old and new readers alike of the new content joining the ranks of Eragon, Eldest, and Brisingr in the very near future!

On October 23rd October 13th, Random House will release the Deluxe Edition of Brisingr, which is set to contain some great never-before-seen Inheritance content, including two substantial deleted scenes from Brisingr, a fold-out Lethrblaka poster, Glaedr's eye artwork by Christopher, Christopher's guide to dwarven runes, and a fancy, gold-foiled book cover to mark the special edition. Want to make sure you're one of the first to receive the new edition of Brisingr? You can pre-order it today via Amazon for only $19.79 (saving you over $10!).

Perhaps most exciting is the new "Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia", set to be published on November 3rd. Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia will be an illustrated tour of the most interesting peoples, places, and things of Eragon’s world. Eragon narrates the book himself, and if you pay close attention to what he says, you might catch a few hints about where the series is headed. The book will include brilliant artwork of our favorite things from the book, including the Beor Mountains, Tronjheim in Farthen Dûr, the elves’ buildings in Ellesméra, the Urgals, the dwarves, elven glyphs, Galbatorix himself, and much more. You can pre-order your copy of Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia for only $16.49 (saving $8.50!) through Amazon.com!

Update: Woops! We had the Deluxe Edition's date wrong! The correct release date is October 13th!
