  • Cristina

    Please, go to Barcelona!!!

  • callum

I drove for 2.5 hours to see him in Vancouver yesterday. Sooo worth it, ive never met him before so it was really cool, and now all my books are signed by him, thanks CP

  • Aplussoccerkid

I’m going to see him on Saturday, and I’m so excited!!!

  • WWS

He was shorter than I’d thought.

    • hoke

      i know right???

  • Supateka

ending sucked nothing clever! just neeeded to wrap it up sad

  • Kevin

Wasn’t the interview supposed to be released last week? You said you hate when people bug you about putting interviews up, then stop saying you are going to put it up on a certain date then not. This is seriously getting annoying.

  • Donrsnyder3

for the signing in indianapolis, at sams club, why are they telling me i wont be allowed to get a book signed unless i am a sams club member, that is complete bull crap and i want to know how true this is

  • Saerina

Any one who as twitter: can you ask CP if Glaedr ever had a mate, if Oromis ever fell in love with someone and is it likely that a dragon would hatch for Nasuada>
PLEASE DO SO! and post on here what he says.
I don’t have twitter, facebook or any thing to communicate with him, other than this 🙂
    Thank you!

  • Medwyn

I got my books signed on Monday at West Edmonton Mall! Met other fans! Ben was really fun to talk to! I held his place for him when the line started moving! Also met a girl who has never read the books! She was just holding the spot for her mom! But it was fun! There was a great ice sculpture of a dragon! I told Christopher I was disappointed in the end (won’t say why in case of spoilers). 🙂 Going to show off the books at a teen bookclub tonight!

  • hoke

The interview with CP was on November 20th if I’m not mistaken. Its December 7th now..

  • Sarang

Kvetha un esterni, Christopher-elda. Nam iet er Sarang Bhagwat, abr India. Ono ebrithil onr, un onr kvaedhi er nuanen. You wrote the best series I have ever had the esterni of reading and you gave your epic saga a fitting end with Inheritance! You are honestly a writer with resources and imagination far beyond your contemporaries as well as your predecessors. You deserve all you have and more, much more.
The next time you decide to grace the world with your words, may I suggest a Domia abr Wyrda? Along with what Jeod promises Eragon to write, plus an account of the first new Riders’ tutelage under Ebrithil Eragon, this book would make a fitting publication. You have probably thought of this already, I just wanted to share the popular demand with you! 🙂
    Se ono sverd sitja hvass!

  • Bleppert93

If anyone has done this please answer this post.

Has anyone met Angela Paolini and asked her about the inheritance Angela? CP’s not going to give us answers about her any time soon and I would really like to know about her.

  • Ellavyd707

Can someone explain the part about the starlings being equal to the worries of the king? I never got it…

    • TheWindsWhisper

Heres what I understood about it. The starling memory was the groundwork for the spell that Eragon used against Galbatorix. I think the old dragon that shared the memory ( I forget his name ) meant that everybody’s lives were equal. Therefore the life of a commoner would be equal to Galbatorix’s, he had forgotten that fact long ago an Eragon’s spell compelled him to fell the misery that he had caused.

Kinda hard to grasp but you get my meaning all the same. Funny thing is that I was rereading that chapter this morning and when I was done I was reading my local newspaper that had an article about the occupy everything movements had spread to nearby Boise. The protesters are saying things like cooperation’s are not people and they don’t care about people even though the people are the source of their wealth. Something just clicked in my mind and finally I fully understood the true depth of the spell. It also got me wondering if that particular memory was added to be a reference to the occupy protests. That’s actually the second thing about the book I have noticed this week, the first was the meaning of the whole Lacuna thing. Weird huh.

      Hope that answers your question.

      • Ellavyd707

        Thanks for your answer.

I don’t get why starling would be a equal to the *worries* of a King. I get your point about everyone being equal, but I don’t think I fully understand the citation as it was written in the book.. :-/

Also, what was the Lacuna thing? I can’t remember…what is a Lacuna again? Lol, questions questions 😛

        • Bleppert93

Lacuna is an English term that describes a missing passage from a book, epic, scroll or other written work. Its fitting in Inheritance because when one leaves the vault of souls they forget everything that happened inside.

The whole starling thing was very confusing it took me a while to fully understand it.

  • Ashley A

I met him quite a few weeks ago at one of the first tour stops! It was AMAZING! He was so fun and engaging in person! Also, who could complain about getting a signed book out of the deal. Plus, I also got a pic with him! I’m so glad that I went! Thank you CP! 🙂

  • Henry

Sad ending…. At the beggining I really thought Firnen would be Rorans somehow…
Anyway my question is: In the end of Inheritance, at the acknoledgements section, CP says he will return to Alagaesia in other book. Any info anyone?

    • Ashley A

Well, in a recent tweet someone asked CP what happens to Murtagh and Thorn after they leave for the north and he said that he’d love to say, but that’s a topic for the 5th book. That made me very excited since Murtagh and Thorn have become my two favorite characters. 🙂

He’s also said that he might want to write about the fall of the Dragon Riders or Brom’s background story. We shall see! Although, he’s said that he won’t write about Alagaesia for several year now (some have said he said 9 years, but I haven’t seen that…). So, don’t hold your breath for a book 5 any time soon.

      • Saerina

        I’M SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!! AND GLAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • TheWindsWhisper

I read that also and agree with you totally. Even though I would like to see Eragons story continued the sad reality is that its impossible. I mean he would need an enemy, and since galby was so vastly powerful any other enemy he could introduce would seem pitiful by comparison.

To CP I would suggest a book about the fall from the points of view of multiple significant characters. Like Brom, Oromis and Glaedr, Vrael, and Galbatorix himself. That would be a cool book in my humble opinion.

  • Wwrestler92

There should be one more book. It should be 100 years after Eragon left so all the mortals are dead and their ancestors have taken their place. Eragon could come back with a host of dragon riders to defend the main land. Arya would still be alive as well as Murtagh. However, Roran’s and Orik’s and Nasuada’s grandchildren would be alive. That would be cool, right?

    • Aurora

Not rly. No offense. its a great idea. but what about angela. the were cats, dwarves, urgals? there’s so much we don’t know about them. i totally agree it would be cool… but i guess I’ve just grown so fond of the characters that are already there to see them die.

    • hoke

dwarves live a long time bro.. but other than that yeah i agree

    • Saerina

Who would Nasuada have married? She a little picky on her choices 🙂
I’d rather not have it that way though

  • hoke

CP was really nice and down to earth in person. He answered one of my questions too! He was a little shorter than I had guessed though.. Oh well, still the best author ever

  • Emily

Wish I could see C.P. in person, first thing I’d do is punch him in the teeth for his ending.

  • Saerina

Quick question for CP: Did Glaedr ever have a mate? and if he didn’t did Oromis ever fall in love with anyone?
and lastly (this is a lot of quick questions :] )Would Nasuada and Murtagh get together if a dragon hatched for Nasuada?
I’d like to see them get together 🙂

    • RichIan

Excellent Questions. Just hope CP catches wind of them. Most probably Oromis would have had a love interest cause in Eldest, after Arya broke Eragon’s first fairth and when Oromis was consoling and advising him, he said that everybody experiences feelings and urges of this kind and that it is part of the  natural order. Glaedr would be an even more likely candidate to have had a mate (considering his fierce and short temper during his early years) but either she was killed by Galbatorix and his Forsworn or he did not mate for life.

But in regard to your last Q. about a dragon hatching for Nasuada I think that the chances will be very low as it would mean her leaving Alagaesia after her initial training to complete her training with Eragon. But even if Murtagh decides to take her training into his own hands it would still conflict with her role as Queen of Alagaesia and this would be so out of her character (particularly after taking all the magicians of Alagaesia under her control) and she would be contradicting her own ruling as she herself would be a magician.

CP so far has made the characters behave totally according to their true natures ( which was why Arya and Eragon made their painful decision to sacrifice a life together with each other in order to fulfill their duty towards the people of Alagaesia (inclucing Dragons : Eldunari).

But either way Murtagh and Nasuada will eventually get together as they care for each other too strongly and Murtagh just needs time to bring down his rage and to come to terms with his and thorn’s sufferings.

      • Saerina

If dragon were to hatch for Nasuada I’m saying she would give the throne to someone she’s trained (in the case of an assassin trained by Galby, kills her).
She could just train with Arya instead of Eragon and not go to wherever Eragon is. That way she doesn’t have to leave forever (if she did I’d do something… I’m not sure what I’d do but I WOULD be very mad).
Sorry if this comment doesn’t make sense 🙂

    • Ashley A

If you haven’t joined Twitter, I’d suggest that you do and ask him these Qs. I’ve asked him several things as well as just tweeted to him conversationally and he’s written back to me 3 times. So it’s definitely worth a shot. Then (if you want to) you could let us know what he says. 🙂

      • Saerina

        I don’t have Twitter!
Could you ask for me then tell me what he says?
        Thank you!

  • Emeric

So Mike, whenwill we find out, or when do you think we will find out, what countries Chris will visit during his European Tour?

    • Daniela

Italy, Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Prague (Czech Republic). Christopher confirmed it on Twitter.

  • Alexis

When is the entering for the big twenty questions going to be?

  • Medwyn

I will be seeing Christopher on Monday in Edmonton! Making a special trip there just to see him! (Okay, and to go to the Mall…) Anybody else going to Edmonton for the booksigning on Monday Dec 5?

    • Dae

I’m going as well! Me and a couple friends are going together and we’re extremely excited.

  • Kurokuma

Yes! I finally was able to see him last night at Provo! He is amazing!

  • John

Really Mike? Still no interview? This is absurd.

  • bromandsaphira

I wish he could come to Ohio…we are big fans here too!!

  • D_mitchell167

Why did Provo have to put a ban on him signing copies of inheritance that weren’t bought at the event? That seems kind of foolish to me.

    • hoke

hey i sat in front of you at the event i think haha

  • jimmy

    Mr.Mike Dude,
Why did you take away my post that had a portion of my book? It wasnt innapropriate. People liked it too.

    The Resistance

“I want them all dead!” Roared the king.  He was not one to make angry. “This has gone on long enough. You have failed me time, and time again, Captain Tierg. One more lost battle, and they shall soon be knocking at out gates, and I can’t have that happening. Do you understand me, Captain?”
“I believe so, Your Majesty.” Captain Tierg replied, with a slight quaver in his voice, although he tried to conceal it. One more fail and I will be thrown in the dungeons or worse, he thought, with a dread. He could not fail this battle, he had a beautiful wife and three kids that needed him.
“Good, I would hate to have to get you locked up for life, you have been somewhat valuable to me. Keep in mind though, if you fail, I will choose another captain that will be far better suited for leading my troops. I believe Corporal Magen would be next in line, should you fail.”
“There will be no need for him to lead your troops, Your Majesty, I shall not fail you again.” Captain Tierg said this with much more confidence than he really had. He knew that his army had many more troops than the rebel army, yet the last few times he had fought them, the rebels had attacked without fear, charging at his much larger army as if they didn’t care if they died, as long as they took as many of the opposing army with them. Seeing them, his army had been startled and had seemed to lose the will to continue fighting. 12,000 men killed by a mere 2,000 enemies

    • Saerina

Please, keep writing, its interesting. I’d like to know more about ‘Captain Tierg’

      • jimmy

Ok. I dont wanna give away much but Captain Tierg MIGHT have a huge role in the end. But I seriously dont know. Im goin with “the flow”

        • Saerina

Who are the “rebels”? Do they have a noble cause? 🙂

          • jimmy

idk u will have to find out.

          • jimmy

but that might be awhile. I might lose interest. Publishers might not even like it. if i ever give up, I will post what I had planned

  • jimmy

I have been writing a book. Actually I just started. Im gona post the beginning. please leave comments about what you think I should do with it. Should I continue writing? please reply.

  • Taz

I would love toe meat him on tour but I live in europe and again he is only touring in the US.
What about the international tour that randomhouse pormissed (only the UK doesnt count)

    • Anonymous

he is stopping like twice or three times in the UK …. and Canada which is a MUCH bigger country. Really, randomhouse, just cause he’s american, he has fans elsewhere ….

    • Daniela

Christopher actually confirmed on Twitter that he´ll be coming to Italy, Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Prague (Czech Republic) next April/May.

  • Crazyjjvols

Hey Mike! When will you be posting the interview between Christopher Paolini and you?

  • Chocho

    • bromandsaphira

      there’s a city called Ilirea where I live too…

  • joe something

Does anyone know how many words any of his books are because im writing a book and i want it to be about 3/4 the size of his? Any help would be greatly appreciated

    • jimmy

idk but what type of book? whats the title?

    • Anonymous

I counted 340 words on one page in Inheritance. The story itself is about 850 pages long, so about 280000 words.

      • jimmy

you have got to be kidding me. I only have 2000 ish so far. im like 1/137 of the way there. Wait but eragon was only like 400 ish pages if i can remember with out looking. so if i judge by eragon im 1/68 of the way there

    • Anonymous

The length of the book will become apparent the more you write and get a better idea of where your story is going. The quality of a story isn’t determined by its length.

  • Alexis

So are we going to have to wait three years for more of his amazingly talented books to hit stores?? Cause I don’t want to wait that long.

  • Anonymous

I get wednesday off 🙂 people be striking lol

  • dragonite1997

ARGH! Why does the San Francisco event have to be an hour’s drive away? And on a Wednesday, too. Plus you have to buy the book there to get priority seating, and I already have it. AND seating starts at 5:30 and there’s no way my parents can drive me there in time. blargh. this sucks. Mike, do you think he’ll ever go on tour again?

    • Amanda

I know how you feel. I’m a little over an hour away from the stop, and I thought the time wasn’t bad, I was so close! Buuut I have a mandatory meeting for something else at the exact same time. UGH.

      • dragonite1997

Barzûl! Now I have to wait probably years before he tours again…

  • Arya’s Lovechild

Hey Mike, when will we get the next podcast? Everyone is itching to hear the gangs thoughts.

    • XxxX

and the public’s thoughts actually given voice to…… 0.o INTENSE

    • A podcast you say?

      • Callum

        Yes! when!

  • DragonsAreAwesome

Why was shurtugal down for some time?  I tried earlier and my computer said webpage error and now lytherus is saying the same…. wait; I just realized the background is back to normal 🙂 Was it being changed and so that’s why we couldn’t get on?

  • EternalShade

Whats going on with the Inheritance Forums?

  • Skymon77

Does C.P. have like bookmarks and stuff that he sales? or is it just his books?

  • Saerina

Are all tours prejudice against Michigan?! I’ll never be able to see him :[

  • Alexis

People like him never come to South Carolina. We’re always skipped.

  • Frankbaney

When are the book 4 podcasts going to be out?

    • Lauren and I were actually just talking about this tonight… soon?

      • Frankbaney

Will Chris or Bob be doing it along with you and Lauren?

      • Callum

How soon is soon, a week, two weeks? Im really excited to hear your guys thoughts

      • Without spoiling anything here, I definitely want to hear Chris’s thoughts on Nasuada’s fate…. *cold voice* >:)

        • Anonymous

if he hasn’t changed his mind… goodness.

  • White Catle

    What about Texas?

    • thelton

you already missed him. He was all over Texas from the 16th to the 19th. Sorry.

  • TheFirstUrgalRider

Misspell Shurtugal and the spell-checker recommends Portugal. Hahaha

  • JonCypher

I am flying from Denver to go to San Francisco for the book signing, can’t wait. Going to be Asome!

    • dragonite1997

so u gonna buy another copy of the book? well i guess if you’re flying then that’s not such a big deal. Sigh… If only I was like, an adult.

      • bromandsaphira

        I’m with you!

  • Shruikanstud

    Come to hawaii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • TheFirstUrgalRider

      I will I will !!!!

  • Coasterking

unrelated quetion but when will book 4 posts start going up and when will we be able to enter the podcast secret word contest?

  • Dom_modmod

oh… the ellesmera background is back. YAY!!! 🙂

    • I don’t know which city I’d rather want to go to, Ilirea or Ellesmera.

      • EternalShade

        I’d rather be in Ellesmera

      • RichIan

Ellesmere. It would take way too long to bring Ilirea back to its former glory and that is if its possible. I would love to live in those elf houses knowing that Queen Arya is just minutes away. I’d love to meet Rhunon too but the best would be to have those Rider’s swords that Eragon found in Urubaen and get Rhunon to explain to me about who and when each of the swords were used.

      • Firnin

Ellesmera. I’d go complain to Arya asking why she didn’t go with Eragon. I’d also get her to answer the questions that CP hasn’t. Will she ever go live with Eragon? Why does everyone revere Angela? How does she justify being the queen now that Eragon isn’t there to have his loyalties to the other races need a counter balance? And anything else I happen to think of there. Nasuada would be useless for question answering and it would be so much nicer to live with the elves.

  • Dom_modmod

    sigh… Australia

  • tobyrox

    … … …
none of the cool authors ever come to MY town…
    Blast you, Randon House!

    • Sydrath

i had to drive from tampa to miami so tech he didnt go to my town either lol

      • Skymon77

Im driving from Vancouver wa to seatle to see him.

        • But…. he’s going to be in Vancouver o_O

          • Skymon77

            That’s Vancouver BC not Washington!

          • thelton

If you read the post it says Vancouver(Canada.) I assume BC is for British Colombia right?

          • thelton

oh wait sorry, didn’t see the WA in your first post. Well…..I’m an idiot.

          • I think he missed that part!

  • Sydrath

i met him in miami and it was awesome. he talked about the series and his experiences and then did a Q & A in which he told people not to talk about book four just in case some of the participants hadnt read it yet but some idiot kids still tryed to spoil the book for me. luckily christopher implyed to them that they were stupid and didnt answer. i had more respect for him after that. all in all i had an amazing time and got all four of my books signed with two of them being personalized.

    • Christopher is a great presenter and a stand-up guy. I’m always impressed to see how one-on-one he is with his fans at these signings. They’re always a blast — and I’ve been to many!

  • Saerina

Whoa! This has to be the first time I’ve EVER made it to be on of the first people to comment on here 🙂
one question, how do I ask questions for an interview? Thanks!

    • We aren’t currently accepting question submissions for interviews but may some time in the future.

  • Atabi

I’m getting my ticket to see him tomorrow! I’m so excited to meet him in person!

    • Have a blast!

    • TheFirstUrgalRider

The last time I went he was covered in hot girls. Sigh…I should write a book too.
