We’re thrilled to announce that Shur’tugal will be in attendance at Comic-Con 2011 for the fifth year in a row starting next week — July 20th through the 24th! San Diego Comic-Con is the world’s largest pop culture convention, drawing in hundreds of thousands of pop culture fans and offering a platform for major media publishers — books, movies, video games, and more — to launch, advertise, and discuss their latest ventures.
This year will be a bit different for the Shur’tugal crew: it marks the first year that we will be in attendance as a joint venture with our fantasy and science fiction website, Lytherus.com! Lytherus staff will be on hand to cover every angle of the convention, reporting back on the latest and greatest fantasy, scifi, and horror news and findings at the convention! We will be live blogging many of the convention’s events from the show floor and delivering Comic-Con news in real-time.
Mike Macauley will be on hand to personally attend and report on each of Christopher Paolini’s events at the convention center, which are set to include a panel with world-renowned fantasy authors including George R. R. Martin, Brandon Sanderson, Patrick Rothfuss, and more. Christopher will also be available for signings and more events which will be announced by Random House early this coming week. We are also very excited to announce that we will be interviewing Christopher at this year’s convention!
Interview information: We are currently soliciting interview questions from fans! The best questions will be asked during our sit-down with Christopher. Please email any questions you may have to feedback@shurtugal.com and use the subject “Comic-Con Interview Questions” — but keep the following in mind: do not ask obvious questions, such as “who will die/who is the green Rider/will Eragon live/what is the Vault of Souls/where is the rock of Kuthian/etc”; try to ask questions that have not already been answered; do not ask about book tours, book signings, please come to my state, etc; be interesting with your questions and they shall be answered!
We will have more information on our Comic-Con coverage as the week unfolds. Comic-Con launches on Wednesday, July 20th. Be sure to check in on Shur’tugal and Lytherus.com through July 25th for some very exciting announcements and news articles!
