Shur’tugal Exclusive: Kaleb Nation Reads From Upcoming Book!

Last week we featured an editorial for young author Kaleb Nation, creator of the Bran Hambric series, in which Kaleb also fielded questions from Shur’tugal visitors on everything from becoming published to living as a young adult author. Kaleb’s editorial and Q&A session went extraordinarily well and it was an inspiration for all of us here at Shur’tugal to see so many young adults inspired by Kaleb and Christopher to pursue a career as a young author. As a thank you for your interest, Kaleb Nation has returned to offer Shur’tugal visitors an exclusive first-author-read of the first chapter from his upcoming second book, Bran Hambric: The Specter Key.

Keep reading for a video introduction from Kaleb Nation, as well as trailers for his first and second books!

So who is Kaleb Nation?

First, you may be interested in the editorial Kaleb wrote for Shur’tugal earlier this week! Check it out here.

Those of you interested in writing may also want to check out Kaleb’s “30 Days to Bran” series, in which Kaleb makes one video a day, every day for thirty days leading up to the release of his second book. In these videos, Kaleb has tackled topics such as fan fiction, how to write a book, writers block, and more. Check the playlist out here!

  • Stormfur45

Wasn’t he the one that wrote that Harry Potter ripoff? I think I read part of his first book and was disgusted by him copying Harry Potter. It may have been anther book, but I think it’s this one.

  • Rootrot

I agree about Kaleb Nation, but I also think we should be patient. Complaining about it isn’t going to bring a new headline up right away. Surely we must all have hobbies we can do to wait? I’ve been writing my second book and working on my book website.

  • Rootrot

But Kaleb Nation’s book was put up because he was INSPIRED by CP, which sort of relates to Christopher in general. We shouldn’t complain about that.

  • Rootrot

Not to put anyone down, but I agree….I congratulate Kaleb Nation on his new book, and feel good that he was insipired by CP….but he does, in fact, have a website and a lot of people know about it now. This is the Inheritance Website, and I would like to see some news about the Inheritance Cycle, or at least a different discussion relating to it.

  • Kithsahan

This nation stuff is still here? What next? Some news about Justin Bieber?

    • Rider of Fangs

Hell no! But I heard that girls are crying and whining all over the world because he kissed a girl at one of his concerts. Muhahahah! He is going to have a lovely next few months, if his career makes it that long.

  • (I deleted a few posts, yes.)

Y’all know The Inheritance Almanac releases this tuesday…there will be news then. There is information in that book that most of y’all have never heard before. Look forward to that!

  • book4shouldbehere

hooooooolllllyyy crap, i want the boook

  • Kithsahan

oh come on. if you just post something like “CP is progressing with the last book” thats more new to us than this brand hambritch or whatever its called….

  • chapstick

Please, Please, Please put something else up. I don’t wanna sound like some chode who is stuck up your ass, but this is an information driven website. Without news on the Inheritance series this website would not be plausible. And therefore you would not have a site or a book which you will profit off of. All I am asking for, and countless others, is we get something, anything, besides this post which has been up for over a week. When you have been on for a fact cause you told us how all we do is whine, which yes we do respectfully because we LOVE this series. So please put something out cause we know you have something.

    • Brian Blair

Over a week? Try over 2 weeks. Im half afraid to even come to the website cause I’m so sick of seeing this kid’s face as the most recent post.

  • Hatekaleb

i`m starting to dream that im killing kaleb every night. belive me, i liked his book but still its so boring to have no news for like 14 days =/

  • Anonymous

Everyone stop whining its not going speed up the process

  • Dragon Slayer

I can give you some news regarding Book 4: Everything that happened in the original Star Wars trilogy is going to occur in Book 4. Surprise!!!!!

  • Annoyed

What the hell does this have to do with CP. Honestly in my opinion book four should have been finished by now

  • [Pessimistic] Anon

Wonder what’s going to happen to this site if and when Book 4 is released? I believe that posting about authors not related to CP in anyway is a last-ditch attempt to keep this site relevant, which it really isn’t these days to be very realistic other then the RARE teaser in the form of the “monthly” Q/A sessions.

  • Anonymous

Oi y’all need to piss off, the team is doing the best with what they have, its not like CP can do an interview every week, or else we would never get the fourth book… And are you guys blind? Mike says were going to have an awesome CP interview this month that does not even involve our questions, so im pretty sure they are doing a fine job. Be glad you have what you have and stop complaining, its not going to make this any faster nor easier on the Shurt team

  • [Pissed off] Guest

Shurtugal is going to lose half of the fans unless we get something new that have something to do with CP. Post whatever you like, i dont care if it’s about his favourite colors, just give us something!

  • Anonymous

Dont worry Mike im sure your frustrated with all these negative comments don’t sweat it. I mean who isnt excited about book 4, as for the rest of you if you dont have a posotive comment then dont post anything at all, I’m sure their are plenty of other things to do than to tell Mike and Cp to hurry up it wont speed up the process. Also congrats to Kaleb good job on your book i enjoyed it alot.

  • sirsimon

For the almanac coming out next week, I havent read so much a squeak from it.
I am curious to what is inside it

  • Rafa22

you should post when cp takes a crap, ANYTHING but please POST something, you dont know how frustrating it is when i come to the site and see the same ungly face on a video talking about KALEB NATION. and by the way I dont complain when you post something related to cp, only when you post something about other authors, this is a site about inheritance, not about random books.

    • Seris

Hey now, Kaleb isn’t such a bad-looking fellow. We’re all pretty frustrated at the news, but don’t take it out on the boy. He never intended it to be up so long.

    • Not to offend you or anything, but there’s other things to do in life other than checking this website. And this guy’s books aren’t “random books” that have no relation to CP…

I hope these complaints end soon, else mike should just close this comment section for now until there is news to report.

  • ShurtugalLiam

I have a few queries … first being that the Book 4 pages aren’t complete, there are errors etc.. Also its written in English (UK) which i like lol! Because things are the “Grey Folk” and so on 🙂 Any particular reason for this ….? ::) Oh this is ShurtugalLiam btw, i’m not sure whether to make an account of this new thing, Disqus or something so …. yeah … 🙂
Long Live Shadeslayer and Brightscales !!

  • Guest

Mike dont worry about complaints they are just eager to know more about the 4th book as for Kaleb’s new book i enjoyed it alot (good details) and for the people who keep complaining if you dont like the article and you have nothing posotive to say about it than dont post it. easy as that. (your complaining wont make things go faster)

  • Brom88

Wow people complain to much don’t sweat it mike as for the Bran Habric series good job Kaleb i like the whole book good details as for the rest of the people who keep complaining if you dont like whats being posted then dont comment.

  • Jqhoss

this is great and all…but why are we wasting our time with this on an INHERITANCE website? Posting random stuff like this isn’t going to distract us any more from the fact that there hasn’t been any substantial inheritance news since the summer.
I hope I can speak for all the fans when I say that we’re smarter than that,

    • Anonymous

No offense but they can’t report news when there isn’t any to report. Be patient, we all want news and we all want the book to come out but complaining about it isn’t going to make anything magical happen.

    • Rootrot

I agree and see why everyone is angry right now, but I think that the Shurtugal Staff are looking for anything they can find on CP at the moment, and I believe that not everyone spends their life everyday on Shurtugal.com. WHILE we’re waiting for any new news, we should work on a hobby, or read a book, or something else to pass the time. I just started my second novel last week, and I’ll continue writing it to pass the time.

OR, maybe we can drop our lives right now, grab a microphone, fly a plane to meet Christopher, and ask him a few questions about the book….I think that’s what the Shurtugal crew does to get your guys’ news. Give them time.

      • Steve

I’m personally very happy that they reported on this. It brought an author to my attention and I’ve enjoyed both KAN books.

    • I think he answered his own comment in there:

“…there hasn’t been any substantial inheritance news since the summer…”

      Perfect.

  • Just as an update to you all — we’ve been very busy working on the final prep for the Almanac release next week. I’ll be traveling all this week but we do have some updates for you. There will be a mini-announcement regarding the next two Q&As soon.

    • Anonymous

How many people are on the Shurtugal.com staff?

    • Anonymous

I am ridiculously excited by this post. 🙂

    • Anonymous

      Hi, Mike!!!

    • Gest1234

      When?

  • Shadow

padfoot i follow this pretty closly and so does my cousin he hadn’t seen you post anything and made me ask

    • Anonymous

Yeah, I have been gone awhile. Shurty had slowed down abit and I have had alot going on. ^_^ I am glad to be back and finally a member though.

  • Anonymous

I rather have no news or news of Cp than have news of this guy. I just hope that Shurtugal does not posting more and more authors. This site should just be reseverd for CP

    • Anonymous

You realize that you don’t have to read EVERYTHING on Shurty right? So if you don’t like the news, don’t read it.

Having no news doesn’t help Mike any. He needs to make money to support himself. And by doing that, he needs to have tons of people looking at his site. So if he has no Paolini news, then he turns somewhere else to keep his reader’s attention.

      • Anonymous

You do realize that i dont read this right? About this guy. I dont read stuff that i dont like. My problem is I dont want Shurty to loose its ways like so many things do. Classics are always better. Well except for the the new Shurty design that is very nice.

  • lucius91

Q&A …. how about sometime soon?? or give me something CP RELATED!!!

  • WantsCPnews

any news on the most recent question answer? any one?

  • Gest1234

When is the Q&A comming out?

  • Shadow

hey how do you guys become members now

  • prongs

anyone know whats up with padfoot

What do you mean about what “up” with me?

    • Anonymous

What do you mean about what “up” with me?

      • Shadow

sorry i follow this closely and you were a big hit with my cousin and i

        • Anonymous

What? Really? I have rarely came on here the last few months, I didn’t know anyone really notice me. XD

      • Shadow

sorry about that my cousin follows what you think on here and had me ask

  • Vlatkovichka

First of all, good job Kaleb… Really… But, this is shurtugal.com not branhambric.com …
So, can we go back to Paolini please?

    • You guys complain when I don’t post news. You complain when I do post news. If this news wasn’t posted, no Inheritance news would have been posted in its place. Why? Because there isn’t any to report. With that I ask — how has posting this article hurt or inconvenienced you? Would you prefer the website to be updated once per month or less, ONLY with Inheritance news and never anything that might fascinate readers while we wait for more news?

So what exactly do you guys want?

      • Krinket

I like the idea of spotlighting authors inspired by Paolini, I really do. Maybe make it a weekly feature and let users of the site submit their own story (give Sirsimon his 15 minutes of fame). Just ask, “How has Christopher Paolini influenced you?” I think Nation was a little over-hyped, but then I’m not into Internet bloggers.

And there is news, isn’t your book due out in a week? Did I miss the editorials to be released detailing more information?

        • sirsimon

Krinket, you make it sound I am some irritating kid that moans and lurks around.

I have apologized about my author stuff and that I wont mention them again, but I am getting a bit tired of the cold words you are placing on me, so what if I mention my book? I worked hard on it and you guys are the only ones that have taken interest in it, even my family can’t be bothered to read it

          • Krinket

As I just wrote above, it was not my intention to cause offense. I meant nothing negative in “15 minutes of fame” and was actually recommending you as a candidate for writing an editorial. They were not meant as “cold words.” I will be more careful of my phrasing in the future.

I apologized to you before and I’ll apologize to you again now. I’m sorry for criticizing you. You are an author. You published a book. Please continue to refer to yourself as one whenever and however often you wish. Completing a book is an impressive feat and you deserve credit for it.

          • sirsimon

Its ok, but we should all get back to Paolini, I feel I am taking up too much thread space

        • Anonymous

Drop the whole Sirsimon thing already! There is no problem referring himself as a writer in every single post he makes. If you don’t like it, then ignore it. This page isn’t dedicated to you, and you have no right to force people to stop talking about stuff.

I’m sure Mike has people who can boot spammers off the site if they are too excessive in their promoting. That’s their problem, not yours. Besides, I’m sure Sirsimon is very proud of his book…he should be…

I realize, (Concerning this post) that you didn’t mention your dislike of Sirsimon’s declaration of authorship, but it is clear that you still have a chip on your shoulder about it. Blow the chip away, let the matter rest.

All you had to do was take out your comment “(give Sirsimon his 15 minutes of fame)” and then I wouldn’t have posted this very angry and annoyed post. Infact, I agree with you. There should be a discussion page about how Paolini inspired young authors. That way they can become a little more noticed by the world.

          • Krinket

Once again I’ve been misunderstood and my words are misconstrued. I apologized to Sirsimon below, if anyone bothered to notice. By 15 minutes of fame, I meant that he deserves time in the spotlight, even if it is only fleeting and brief. I didn’t mean anything negative and I’m sorry if I came across that way. I’m SUPPORTING an editorial about his experience writing and publishing a book. Even Eragon started out as a self-published publication. Sirsimon is just the only one I know of among us who has had a book published, so that’s why I suggested him. And as everyone else has already mentioned, it’s a great opportunity for him to advertise. Please don’t jump on my back.

          • Anonymous

My apologies. However, you could have just left the comment about Sirsimon out and still have gotten your point across.

And considering that we are speaking via text, I suggest that you be more careful with what you are saying and how you say it since meanings can be taken askew.

      • Gizmo

Mike, do not worry about people who keep complaining. They are just impatiant when it comes to news about book 4. You do a great job as without you we would have no info so just let them complian like little girls who want ice cream but cannot have any and keep up the good work.

      • Seris

LIke we said, sir, the onus doesn’t lie entirely with you and the staff. We’re more upset at the fact that there is no news to report rather than the fact that you’re not posting news.

      • sirsimon

Mike I have a question, will this book feature everything on the cycle?

Will it mention Flora, fauna, languages, history, geography, anthropology and the fourth book?

thanks amigo, looking forward to reading it!

Ahhhh once again, another publishes due to his inspiration from paolini, it really puts a smile to my face

      • lucius91

seriously man cry to your mom dont cry to me … when we get news we are happy … BUT THIS IS NOT NEWS! you could fill out the webpage with comments on the weather and say thats news cos seriously that is how related this kaleb nation book is to CP… and then you say we whinge when there is no news … im impatient yes but only for CP’s books/ information to come out … i agree with Vlatkovichka this is not a website for any news in the world … id rather news on cp only even if it comes once a month cos at least its the reason why i come onto this site in the first place

        • JC

and yet…you continue to read this “inconsequential” news. Find a hobby dude.

          • lucius91

well mate dont quote “inconsequential” i never said that word i doubt i have ever used it in my life
secondly your reading and replying to what I SAY?? and you tell me to get a hobby???

          • JC

haha, easy man. Look inconsequential up in the dictionary – im not quoting you, but your argument. I simply find it amusing that people want news to be spewed out of thin air. I check the website for any possible news, and when its not there, and if I’m bored i’ll check out some off the discussions. Sometimes they get interesting. At least im not complaining to the people who make the site. Its a website- there are millions of websites, and not all of them answer your questions almost every day. Everyone’s impatient for the book – but are you the author? Nothing can be done – so don’t get arrogant with a website – cuz its getting you nowhere.

          • lucius91

Im not an idiot, i do know what the word inconsequential means. If you’re quoting my argument then use my actual words (might be something that you should have learnt in school).
And for the second time in this discussion you’ve proven that you cant read, much less quote. In no way shape or form did i say i wanted “news to be spewed out of thin air”. Rather i said the opposite where i dont want any news unless its CP related, i said: “id rather news on cp only even if it comes once a month.”
To answer your third point, im not complaining TO the people who make the website, rather im telling him to stop whinging and what i, as a reader of his site, wants to see (which happens to be what he was asking for).
But then again, why am i explaining myself to an arrogant bloke who assumes that by commenting on what i say that im going to change my opinion.

      • Anonymous

I dont complain MIke when you put no news that is Cp related. I just get a little disapointed but neither do I blame you. I just dont want Shurty to drift away from CP related info. So many things in this world drift away from what theyonce and I dont want Shurty to be one of those in the list. LIke I said classics are better except this new website design. It rocks m/

      • Rider of Fangs

MIke, I think the problem is that, it’s inconvenient, and it has nothing to do with book four. Hoestly, I could care less for Paolini’s book at the moment so I don’t classify myself with the Irriataion against you and the site. for all of you that are complaining about the Bran Hanmbrick, shut your mouths. It’s good that Hambric is on here so Kaleb will be able to get an outstanding publicity when working with Shurt’ugal. Hopefully, I’ll be to when my book gets through, but that is a very slim chance. I’m only asking that you quit pesturing Mr. Macauley, and stop criticizing the lack of updates and Paolini “taking forever”!

      • Anonymous

        A few suggestions Mike,
One, I really think you should disable the comments for this post. I personally like the article, but these comments have just regressed into some asisne argument.
Two, don’t stop posting other stuff. It seems the majority of readers like it, but the ones who don’t are the most vocal. This is why I think you should have like an other news tab, inspired authors, ect. so those who actually care will go and look at it and those who don’t won’t have any reason to complain about the home page being taken up by non-CP related things.

On a totally unrelated note, I think this website is awesome, especially since you and Kaleb Nation actually interact with fans. Thanks for running a truly unique page. 🙂

  • sirsimon

Paolini is attempting something difficult, to write a book as fast as he can and yet keep it perfect.

Lets give Paolini the time he needs.
But I have to admit, the book shouldnt be far off completion,
Its been two years and a month since the last book.

As an author, I can say the average time to finish a book is two years, so essentially, we should be hearing the announcing of its completion anytime now.

    • Protege

What do you mean ‘keep it perfect’? His books thus far haven’t been perfect, so you can’t expect him to keep anything perfect. They are riddled with flaws as any young authors are, especially when they begin to create and write a story at the age of 15 when they still don’t have their brain completely developed.

      • Seris

While not necessarily entirely untrue, I would stand to be mindful of where you are, sir, and advise you to be respectful.

        • sirsimon

In the future I will refrain from referring to myself being an author, kaylalynn10, I thank you, it seems there are considerate people in this world.

Krinket, I will obey your wishes, for you are right in a way, I am just proud of my achievements in life, and if any of you wrote a book that took two years to produce, I would kindly and gladly congratulate you.

Protege, indeed his books aren’t perfect, but you cant deny that they are brilliant and well done for someone of Paolini’s age. Brain development and age have no bounds on talent, it was Paolini’s talent and imagination that brought him Eragon, not the size of his brain.

Seris, people can be critical if they wish, but indeed, when one comes on this website, Paolini should be respected for the work he has produced

          • Anonymous

mate do u hav a soft copy of ur books?

          • sirsimon

I have only my own copy with me at present sorry,

but you can obtain a copy at

            http://www.authorhouse.co.uk or http://www.authorhouse.com

the price is about eight sixty

you can read a chapter of the book and the synopsis on the website, before purchasing

          • Thats_How_Sue_C’s_it

Hey sirsimon!!!!! if you had never had metioned your book or being an author, i would have never have wanted to purchase it (as i just wouldn’t have heard of it). You shouldn’t stop metioning your an author, you have a right to be proud of your book and you have a right to raise some publicity about yourself so that people can get the book for themselfs and enjoy the work you have produced. Like i would be well chuffed if i wrote a book and i would tell everyone at any opertunity (can’t spell :P) i could get because when your that proud of something, you just want to share it with everyone so that they can see just how good it is. (like well, being that proud of something just makes you want others to see why your proud like init) I did just comment above aswell before reading the rest of whats gone one with the comment, so :S oops 😛 i should have combinded the messages.

So don’t stop telling people your an author just because someone can’t empasise with your situation, you’re not doing any harm and people should be thankful there are people like you who write books for us to enjoy globally because what would we read if there were not writers?? (well nothing init).

so don’t change to make others happy, do what you want, it’s your life, and you have a right to say what you want!!!

          • Krinket

I would be proud if I had published a book, too. I just wouldn’t reference it to validate every comment I make. I’ve enjoyed reading Sirsimon’s comments for years, for some reason it just nettled me extra when he said: “As an author, I can say the average time to finish a book is two years.” It can take any amount of time for an author to finish a book. In Sirsimon’s experience, it took two years, but that’s not necessarily average.

I’m sorry if I upset anyone, especially Sirsimon. Feel free to tell people about your book and your status as an author. 🙂

          • sirsimon

Oh guys, you are brilliant, too good to me, I just wanted to show the world what our generation can do, believe you and me, If you guys wrote a novel, I would gladly purchase it and read it, for a…person like myself appreciates other books, literal creativity.

Thanks again guys, it warms the heart really

    • Krinket

I’m getting a little sick of you referring to yourself as an author every other time you make a post. You self-published a book. It’s not my intention to demean your work, but you’re not the authority on “all things author.” Writers also have very different styles and time frames for completing a book. If Paolini isn’t under contract, he can take as long as he wants… and some authors take that long even when they do have a deadline.

      • Anonymous

        Krinket,
Did you write a book? Because if you didn’t, then who are you to say that sirsimon should stop refering himself as an author. If Sirsimon is an author, then let him be one!

You are not the authority on “all things author”. Stop being a hypocrite (if you haven’t written a book AND published it).

If you have written AND published a book, then kudos to you. That doesn’t make you any better than Sirisom.

        • Krinket

You didn’t understand my comment. I NEVER said he should stop referring to himself as an author–I just asked that he not mention it in every post he makes. I never claimed to be the authority, either, so I’m in no way being a hypocrite. And I never said I was better than him, so I don’t know where you got that from.

That being said, anyone who has money can self-publish a book. I’ve never read Sirsimon’s book, so I can’t comment on it. Maybe it’s a work of literary genius. Maybe I’d publish a book if I (or my parents) could afford it. But if becoming an author means publishing a book, then I’d argue that some people can buy the status, while others are required to have real talent (not saying Sirsimon doesn’t) and be picked up an agent. There’s my 2 cents.

          • sirsimon

It cost me 800, and even then it didn’t get the best possible result

Lets just forget about this argument, I started it, I am to blame, but lets get back to paolini, we are taking up thread space.
Lets not talk about it, and shake hands again

Thank you kaylalynn, but i will not mention my book again, I have to make sure peace is kept between fans, I do not want to be the one to cause a riot just because I mentioned my achievement and one person acted with…much anger

          • Tt

haha riot over the internet 😀

      • That_How_Sue_c’s_it_:)

have you ever thought that he comments about his book/being an author on his comments is that he is trying to raise publicity??? i mean it is a hard thing to raise publicity (and expensive) and if you write a book and publish it, then you obviously want others to read it and how can they read it if they have never heard of it?? So all sirsimon is doing it raising publicity where people will notice it as this is a popular site and it’s free.

I am not having a go out you, you are intitled to your opinion, but what harm is sirsimon doing by just rasing some publicity about his book?? please don’t take offence, thats just how i see it. Like i am going to get his book because he metioned it here. If he didn’t, i would have NEVER have even considered reading it (no offence sirsimon :P) because i just hadn’t heared of it or seen it. It honastly seems like a good book when i read up about it.

So krinket, just let this guy have some free advertisment, he’s not harming anyone and he is just making the most out of some free publicity, like cut him some slack, it’s hard being an author, so authors have to make the most out of any oppertunity they get, otherwise, a lot of authors wouldn’t get anywhere with their books.

        • sirsimon

Thank you That_How_Sue_c’s_it_:) you are a good person. Considerate of others, that’s nice, I promise to you all I will not speak of me being an author and my book, Krinket is entitled to an opinion, but his words sting a bit.

But believe me, if any of you guys published, I would be thrilled, That_How_Sue_c’s_it_:) if you dont wish to read my book, thats totally fine, but if you do, go to authorhouse publishing website.

it is called the realm: dawning of a hero,

so this is the last time I shall refer to my book

          • Thats_How_Sue_c’s_it_:)

But i honastly want to read it as the symnopsis sounds like the type of book i would love to read. I just have 50+ other books to read through first (my book pile sort of got out of hand :P) and then i am getting a big lump of books for christmas aswell :S. but your book does sound really really good, so i will read it because i want to read it. 😀

          • sirsimon

            thank you thats lovely.

the reason I talked about on here was for two reasons, to show others that many of us have written novels through inspiration of Paolini and because you guys are the only ones that are actually interested in it, even my family cant be bothered and my grandmother said she doesn’t want to read it

        • Anonymous

That is precisely why i think this website should have an “authors inspired by CP” section. Besides, this isnt just a website about CP. Its about him, his accomlishements, and people he has inspired. No where have I found an author website that was so user friendly. I think this site actually has a lot more potential than its using.

          • Rider of Fangs

I actually would agree withthat section. We should ask Mike to equip it to the site. And that was well said. And Sirsimon…I am greatful for you that you are trying to raise awarness, but sometimes you could turn it down a notch. I’d suggest writing a little bio on your book like me and Kaleb have done on the site. Too many authors, so little mony. so many books…
Thank you past presidents for our lovely defecit. (sarcasm)
Anyway, Sirsimon, I might end up reading your book soon (When it releases, or if it comes in my book store). In my opinion, selling the book is much more difficult, and I know a small portion from experience since I’m trying to get writers on Booksie.com to read it. Not easy! As well as people you meet every day!
What I wouldn’t give for pointless bickering to cease for at least a decent three weeks.

  • Seris

A talented young man indeed, but this could stand to be supplemented by some CP news, though the lack thereof is not exactly the site’s fault, of course.

I’m loath to criticize Mr. Paolini, but I think we can all agree that even though he maybe be able to “see the light at the end of the tunnel” he isn’t fully aware that we’re with him in that very tunnel, and feeling extremely claustrophobic.

    • Mikaela

Chuckle!!! Completely with you there 😀

  • blah

Wow. Ten days of this “exclusive” and still zero news on the reason this site is here…

  • Man, thanks for posting these videos! This guy’s videos have really helped me.

Hey people, isn’t it better to have some sort of news instead of nothing? It isn’t doing any damage to anyone really to post info about authors that have been influenced by CP, especially when there isn’t any news to report about CP’s doings anyway.

  • Guest1234

Just post news on the inheritance cycle already.

  • Guest

PLEASE give us more inheritance and CP! For like a month the only thing i see when i log in is news about that book that i actually dont care about

    • Protege

Why are you asking for Child —-ography?

      • [Pissed off] Guest

Just because Child Pornography is the only thing you can relate CP to, doesnt mean every does. CP = Christopher Paulini, You = retard, plus those things together and you’ll find that you should stfu if you dont know what you are talking about.

        • Protege

Paolini* LOLOLOLOL GOT TROLLED AND STILL CANT SPELL LOLOLOL

  • Ggg

It is soooo frustrating to come to this website and find the same post about kaleb nation over and over again!!!!!! aaaaaaaaarghhhh! when are we going to get some inheritance news??

    • sirsimon

that is true, no offense to Kaleb. Paolini should be finished writing by mid december.
Since he said he was on the climax,
saying that, the book should be out Summer 2011

It should have been out this year -_- Or he should have set a release date. Work to a deadline, get it done.

      • Qdarcey

actually it will be coming out spring 2012

        • Protege

          I lol’d so much.

    • When there’s news to report. But there isn’t, so Mike’s being smart and keeping the site alive until that time.

      • Jaap

just let us know he’s still busy writing at least 😛

        • If he wasn’t then I think we’d be told that he wasn’t; otherwise I’d assume he is. And saying “he’s still writing guys” isn’t exactly news last time I checked.

nevermind, after three years, I am finally a member.

    • Shadow

Yo padfoot glad to see you back

  • PadfootUnewraithSlayer

How in Merlin’s Beard do you make an account on here now???

    Hi, Sirsimon!!!

    • sirsimon

Hello padfootunewraithslayer, it is good you are back, the site has been still for over a week now, and a paolini inspired author named Kaleb Nation has been placed on the news, I wrote a book, I wish my book would be mentioned in this news one day, since I was inspired by paolini

      • Anonymous

Aye, it is good to be back, Sirsimon! I feel you, mate, don’t we all?

  • PadfootUnewraithslayer

Wow, this is so different!! I have not been to the comment boards in quite awhile! Hi all!

    • Wolf

      Hi back to you

      • Anonymous

Hi!! Do I know you, wolf?

        • Anonymous

          Hi! Shadow!

  • Anonymous

hey Mike! It seems that alot of people inspired by CP have actually published books. I think It would be cool to highlight one everyonce in a while. Maybe even an authors inspired by… feature or tab on the home page? 🙂

    • sirsimon

Most of us have been inspired by Paolini, we should all get some attention

      • Anonymous

I agree and that’s why I sugested it. Especially for people like you who have published books and would like some recognition.

Hey Mike i tried connecting to my facebook so i can post a comment on my profile but it keeps saying an error occured

  • Anonymous

Sounds cool, maybe I’ll check it out that is if we have in down here in New Zealand, on another note: Dud I wish I could talk that fast. Furthermore, being home-school rocks…

  • Amethyst Rose

Wow! I now am in possession of both books (both are paperback) and I love them! Though I just started on the second, I’m already loving it!

I too am Inspired by Chris and I too am writing a book. (though I’ve got a long way to go!)

  • Mordor

    @Sirsimon; here, here!
Except, well, I haven’t been inspiried by him, but I still like Saphira alot. 😛

WHOA! dudes, this new layout caught me off gaurd.

  • Anonymous

Omg this guy is so annoying!!!!
What is he doing here? Is a site for CP of for the dude?

Great shurtugal is starting to do that thing by experimenting or fixing things that dont need to be fixed.

    NOOOOO dont drift away!! 🙁

  • Anonymous

I for one, find it refreshing to find a new topic of conversation on the Shurtugal website. Everytime time Mike posts new info about CP all anyone can comment on is why isnt the fourth book finished and complain about CP going to publishing events. I would rather come on Shurtugal and hear about an author who was inspired by CP that encourages other authors to follow their dreams than see nothing at all day after day. So dont hate on Kaleb. For all you know, one day you might publish a book and get recognized on this site. would you be complaining then?

      your cool

  • Petter_cool95

Hi. This book sounds rly interesting. Does any1 know when the book is released in norway?

  • ShadowOfTheMoon

Hey hey guys calm down. This Nation guy got inspired by CP, so at least be happy for the guy now that he too is an acomplished author. The news on CP will come out when they come out.

    • Sirsimon

I published a book last year, and i was inspired by Paolini. yet my name isn’t up here, and everyone here is able to purchase it.

      • Anonymous

        What book did you publish?

        • sirsimon

The realm: Dawning of a hero by Simon Law.

You can buy it on http://www.authorhouse.com or http://www.authorhouse.co.uk

          • TheDragonReborn

I’ll get your book, it seems interesting 🙂

          • sirsimon

thank you thedragonreborn, and unlike some authors, I would actually talk to fans like normal people.

Be warned though, there are some grammar errors due to printing issues, but it shouldn’t deter you

          • Protege

Post an e-book version online for me to download it, if I like it, I will buy it to add to my personal library.

i dont think you can understand just how little i care about kaleb nation … if this site is dedicated to cp and the inheritance cycle why is this online? i can understand that he has cp as inspiration but that doesnt tickle the interest at all. i only want news on the inheritance cycle or the q & a or what cp has done of great achievement

  • Josharnold1

This guy talks too fast… actually it’s more like one long sentence. Kind of like watching a bullet train go by for a couple minutes.

  • Ssddfghjk

can we please have some news on cp and the book?

    • Sirsimon

I congratulate Kaleb on his success, but this has nothing to do with the inheritance cycle only that he was inspired by paolini, but u know what? So was I and every single person on this site.

Lets get back to Paolini and his books…please

    • Rafaelo22

couldnt agree more. enough from kaleb, lets get back to what this site is about? CP, inheritance?

  • Dawn

what is the link with eragon’s book ? nothing

    • Dawn

can you answer me please ?

  • Fo

When does the Q&A arrive? Can’t wait

    • The Q&A is going to be weird this month due to some as-of-yet-unreleased plans. Hopefully I have a date soon-ish. The questions you guys submitted will be answered in November, *BUT* there will be a Q&A in October. I can’t say any more yet. 😉

      • Fo

Ah cool. online? xD I know you won’t answer that 😉

      • If Fo’s right, can you tell us some days before? I’m from Portugal (Europe) so, too many times, I loose some things on-line ’cause it’s dawn or middle of the night

      • Hey,Mike… You do try to keep secrets just as much as CP. But what is “Weird”? You just increased my impatience to see the “Weird” Q&A. Would you please get across a request to CP asking him to write the story of Arya just like he promised to write Murtagh’s.

      • ShadowOfTheMoon

Oh really? Can’t wait so what you got in store for us! 😛

      • Anonymous

        HAILLZZ YESSUM!
        lol.

      • Jumpergirl93

weird as in a possible release date or updates on book 4’s progress? =)

  • I started following Kaleb Nation a few months ago and actually just received both his books. Very interested in reading them.

  • Anonymous

Is this series like Harry Potter where the climax is in 7th book?

  • Gest1234

I’ve never read these books how are they? When is more news going to be posed on book 4?

    • Amethyst Rose

Let’s just say that the first book, The Farfield Curse, is one I couldn’t put down and the second one is most likely just like that. I was only able to read the first two chapters of it online and I’m ready to devour it the moment I get my hands on it!

    • Amethyst Rose

        Thanks

    • More news on Book 4? Let me gaze into my magical crystal ball…

  • Steve

I’m confused. It says it releases on Oct 10th, yet I bought both books Tuesday at a bookstore.

    • A lot of bookstores don’t honor on sale dates and will put a book out in stores as soon as they receive the shipment. Amazon has also been sending copies of his book out early.

  • Protege

So exclusive, it was posted on youtube.

    • Well, that just kills this. Party is over, I guess we have to remove the post now. 🙁

      • Anonymous

Protege just wants the “red carpet treatment”

If ANYTHING is posted online, then its not exclusive…

        • The reason I used the term “exclusive” (loosely here) was because the video was created as a read for Shur’tugal viewers. Yes it was posted on his Youtube channel for all to see, but the intent was still there. Either way, it was nice of Kaleb to do this!

          • Anonymous

Yes, I am very impressed with Kaleb.

Not very many authors interact with their fans as much as he does. I find it is a very nice quality and it makes him more real to the readers.

I don’t really care if it’s on youtube. It’s online for everyone to see and share. Thank you Kaleb!

          • My first book will be published the first in a five book series in June 2011. I’d be happy to read anything for Shurtugal. This site has been a great resource to me, and I want to give back. (I’m 26)

          • Protege

I see that you have no back foot to lean on here Mike. I win this time, maybe we can play again sometime.

  • MasterBrom

    Hi Kaleb;

I’ve ordered your book and listening to you read the first chapter is making me impatient. I also read the 2nd and 3rd chapter on your website, now I hope the book gets here soon so I can finish it. So how is the third book coming along?
