I have no audio books but I have the books and I luvvvvv them CP is the besstttttttt

  • CaptainHollyShort

And Bob, I’m so jealous!!! I wouldn’t open it, either!

  • CaptainHollyShort

Yay CP!! I love the audio books! They’re how I first heard of Eragon! GD’s Saphira voice is a little out there, but if I were a dude, I don’t think I could do as good of a job with a female dragon’s voice.

  • PadfootUnewraithSlayer

I did not hear him doing Saphira, I heard Durza. Though I think that men will almost do bad on women voices while reading.

  • Eragon<3

I dont like how he narrates Sahira, but in every other way he is by far the most realistic and unique narrator i have ever heard! Congratulations!

  • PadfootUnewraithSlayer

Yes, I was listening to him last night on a chapter I found on utube and he does every well in the voices, I have never heard of music being in the backgroud like that in a unabridged story, but it was interesting. He gives Jim Dale a run for his money, and that is saying something. ;D

I have never read a Inheritance book, but I have completed all the audiobooks! Gerard Doyle is such a great story teller! Just love his way of narrating! He deserves this price! And I can’t wait for the day that I can listen to the fourth book!

    Hello, Evarinya!

Aye, audio books are good, and very good if you are in a place where you can’t really bring a book. If you have like a mp3 player or ipod, you can put part of it on there if you get CDs (most of mine are cassettes) so that you can be listening to your books whenever you can listen to music (I also find it a very good way to ignore people).

  • Evarinya

I think i may get one of those..

  • Daniel

Did you listen to your mom’s audiobook, Bob?

  • PadfootUnewraithSlayer

Wicked! I have most of the Harry Potter ones and the LotRs and Narnia Radio things.

  • Bob

The plastic is off of it, but yeah…it’s never been opened up. My mom opened hers though…

  • PadfootUnewraithSlater

I like Audiobooks and I have listened to part of Eragon on itunes.

  • Daniel

You can download some of Eragon from alagaesia.com

  • Chris

I’ve never actually listened to an audiobook. I just met him in person and he read the chapter to everyone.

  • Daniel

Hahahaha. Then what’s the point in having it? I read my signed books. I keep them in good condition, but I read them.

Is it the plastic that’s signed?

  • Bob

I have the Eldest audio book but I haven’t taken the discs out of the box because it’s signed by CP and Gerard Doyle.

  • Daniel

I have part of the Eragon audiobook on my iPod. Gerard has a very unique way of narrating.

  • Aiedail~

Congrats! I haven’t heard him before, but I’m sure he’s great. Off topic I know but still I never understood why you would want to LISTEN to a book instead of read it…Maybe I’m just geeky but I love reading on my own…LOL but congrats anyways!! =)

  • DanielW

I haven’t heard him but congratulations.

  • All.Hail.Emperor.Murtagh

The audiobooks are very well narrated, and the odd accent works very well for Alagaesia. Good luck, G.D.! (The only real problem I have with the audiobooks is that Saphira sounds like Yoda with a sore throat. ; )

  • Evarinya

    Wow!
Thats amazing and good luck to him!

  • alucard

I’ve heard from a friend that his voice is amazing, maybe I’ll get it someday. Good luck Mr. Doyle!

  • Mike

And he’s a great guy. I’ve had the pleasure meeting him at both book releases (most of the staff have met him as well). Very friendly!

  • Chris

    He has a brilliant voice…

  • Jack

Do you know if Eragon and/or Eldest was nominated and/or won?

  • Daniel

I’ve never heard of the Audie Awards… I’ll be sure to look into it. 🙂
